Chief Financial Officer

Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee the financial operations, strategic financial planning, and performance management of the company. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will provide financial leadership, guide decision-making processes, and drive the overall financial strategy to ensure sustainable growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the CPG sector and Direct to Consumer sector. They value experience with financial modelling, cost reduction and management, supply chain aspects, balance sheet and cash management, investor relationships and secondarily fundraising.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy & Leader
· Develop Financial Plans: Establish the medium-term financial strategy and provide direction for budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
· Strategic Business Partner: Collaborate closely with the CEO and executive team to drive financial initiatives that align with the company's strategic objectives, including market expansion, new product development, and M&A activity.
· Financial Modeling & Analysis: Maintain a robust financial model that incorporates volume-based production, pricing fluctuations, and COGS to ensure profitability.
· Capital Structure & Investment: Lead the company’s efforts to optimize capital structure, managing both debt and equity to support growth and expansion.
· Balance sheet and cash management: Lead the company’s efforts to optimize cash management.
2. Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Financial Statements: Partner with the VP of Finance and oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax requirements, and industry standards. Collaborate with auditors, ensuring successful completion of internal and external audits.
• Board Presentations: Prepare and present financial performance and strategic insights to the board of directors and shareholders, ensuring clear communication of financial outcomes and risks.
3. Cost Management & Margin Optimization
• Cost Control: Partner with the Chief Operating Officer to implement cost-control measures across the business, focusing on managing input costs, labor, and production expenses to improve profit margins.
• Supply Chain Efficiency: Work closely with the Operations Team to optimize the sourcing, production, and distribution processes to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
4. Cash Flow Management & Capital Allocation
• Working Capital: Manage working capital effectively, ensuring optimal cash flow to support day-to-day operations, inventory management, and production. Evaluate and prioritize expenditures, and manage AP and AR for an healthy balance sheet.
• Debt Management: Oversee debt management, ensuring the company meets all financial obligations and optimizes borrowing costs.
5. Financial Operations & Systems
• Process Improvement: Partner with the VP of Finance to streamline financial processes, systems, and controls to enhance reporting accuracy and decision-making capabilities.
• Risk Management: Implement robust risk management frameworks to identify and mitigate financial risks, including credit risk, market fluctuations, and currency volatility.
Qualifications/Requirements
· 15+years' of finance and accounting experience
· You have experience scaling a D2C brand from $250M-$500M and beyond
· Bachelor’ sdegree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required)
· CPA or MBA preferred
· Experience in the DTC and Fashion/Apparel or other similar consumer product industries ishighly preferred
· Experience in a high-growth, fast paced environment
· Strong finance-based analytical skills and modelling skills
· Experience managing cost reduction, COG and managing international sourcing
· Hands-on experience with capital raising (equity and debt financing) and investorrelations
· Strong finance-based analytical skills
