Head of Merchandising

An established, digitally native accessories brand is entering an exciting phase of global growth and category expansion. Within creasing SKU complexity and international momentum, the business is investing in senior merchandising leadership to strengthen commercial discipline and assortment strategy.
This is a high-impact role for a commercially minded merchandising leader who thrives in fast-moving, DTC environments and enjoys balancing creativity with rigorous financial ownership.
The Opportunity
The Head of Merchandising will own end-to-end assortment architecture, pricing strategy, and inventory productivity across a growing product portfolio.
Working cross-functionally with Design, Marketing, Finance, and Ecommerce, this role will ensure collections are commercially strong, margin-protected, and aligned to global growth priorities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assortment Strategy & Line Architecture
• Develop seasonal assortment strategies across core and emerging product categories
• Balance replenishment depth with innovation and trend-led expansion
• Identify whitespace opportunities and new category potential
• Align assortment strategy with brand positioning and international growth plans
2. Financial Planning & Margin Management
• Own Open-to-Buy planning in partnership with Finance
• Set category-level sales, margin, and inventory targets
• Lead weekly trade reviews and seasonal hindsight analysis
• Optimise pricing architecture and markdown cadence
3. Inventory & Lifecycle Management
• Monitor SKU productivity and reorder triggers
• Manage in-season performance to protect margin and minimise risk
• Partner with Operations on production timelines and replenishment
• Improve stock turn and reduce excess inventory exposure
4. Cross-Functional Alignment
• Partner closely with Design to influence product development and margin outcomes
• Collaborate with Marketing on launch timing and campaign alignment
• Support Ecommerce with merchandising insights across PDP and on-site experience
5. Process & Capability Development
• Introduce structured merchandising tools, templates, and planning rhythms
• Establish scalable reporting frameworks
• Mentor team members and uplift commercial capability cross-functionally
About You
• 7+ years’ experience in merchandising or buying within fashion or accessories DTC
• Proven experience operating within scaled consumer brands
• Strong analytical and financial acumen
• Deep expertise in assortment planning, SKU productivity, and margin management
• Comfortable presenting seasonal strategies to executive leadership
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
